When coming to the Carolinas for your summer vacation, it’s all about relaxing on the white, sandy beaches and frolicking in the cool waves of the Atlantic Ocean. Fun and relaxation this trip can also be found at Myrtle Waves Water Park, the largest water park in South Carolina. Located near Broadway at the Beach, another of the Grand Strands finest attractions, Myrtle Waves will be the coolest, wettest and wildest fun in the sun you’ll have all summer. Spreading out over twenty acres and containing more than one million gallons of water, this water park is sure to make a splash with all visitors.

At Myrtle Waves Water Park, you will find an attraction or ride that will be sure to appeal to anyone’s level of fun and energy. You don’t have to feel that you are missing a day at the beach when you come to this water park. The Ocean in Motion Wave Pool is twenty thousand square feet of crystal, blue wave perfection. Special generators will create several different kinds of waves up to four feet tall, perfect for body surfing or catching a wave on your boogie board. At the largest wave pool in the Carolinas, you can have a great time splashing in the surf or riding the waves minus the sand and salt. If you are looking to relax a bit after all of that gnarly wave action, then grab a raft and head on over to the Layzee River. You’ll be able to kick back and chill out while you take a leisurely ride around the scenic water park. Winding over one thousand feet and moving at an easy speed of three miles per hour, this river is perfect and gentle enough for all ages.

For park attendees craving more watery excitement, try one of the many slides that are sure to produce screams of delight from anyone who takes a ride. The very brave can try out the Turbo Twisters, the world’s tallest tubular slides at ten stories tall. Riders will shoot down these completely enclosed tubes in complete darkness at a speed of fifty feet per second! You can also try Snake Mountain, where three different slides with different speeds will provide rides from the calm to the daring. There is a height requirement for most of these slides, but don’t worry. The little ones can have fun in Bubble Bay, a leisure pool with depths up to eighteen inches, cascading water umbrellas, and tons of bubble jets for extra fun. The Saturation Station playground will thrill all ages with water shooters, several smaller slides, waterfalls and more. If that doesn’t leave you completely soaked, then the seven hundred gallon erupting volcano will!
